The CMC forum is reserved for members, families and friends of Canadian Motorcycle Cruisers.
Please note that joining the CMC as a member and joining the forum as a participant are two separate registrations. If you wish to become a member of CMC, you may do so by clicking on the top menu item “Join CMC”.
To register on the forum click: “Communication / CMC Forum” in the top menu. Alternatively, you may go directly to the Registration Page. Next, select your birthdate range and follow the prompts.
After you have registered, at the main forum page, click ‘Log In’
Type in your User Name & Password that you submitted and received in a previous email. You have the option to click the box ‘Log me in automatically each visit’ (maximum 3 days) and you won’t have to type in your username & password each time you visit the forum. You’ll now be on the Board Index where you’ll find forum pages for Chapter Rides / Meets and Greets, Motorcycle Tech, Forum & Website Tech Questions along with various other sections.
To find your chapter page - click on your province and look for your listed chapter. Click on your chapter and it will take you to your chapter’s forum page. Once there, you can click on ‘New Topic’ then type an intro in the message box to let your fellow members know that you’ve arrived, and then click ‘Submit’.
You can bookmark/save the forum page to favourites and use that to take you directly to your chapter page every time you visit the forum if you wish if you have checked the ‘Log me in automatically each visit’ box mentioned previously.
To post on the end of a thread - scroll to the end of the topic thread, click ‘Post Reply’, type your message in the box and click ‘Submit’.
To start a new thread – click the box ‘New Topic’, the same message box will come up but this time you will need to enter a subject line to identify the nature of your post.
If you wish to receive an email notifying you that another post has been made on this thread, click the box ‘Notify me when a reply is posted’. This comes in handy if you’re waiting for a reply to your post. You’ll receive an email that will have the link for that topic that you can click on to take you to it
When posting, please keep in mind that this is a family orientated riding club and communication forum, so content and language should be acceptable for all members of our families. It’s ok to disagree, as long as you’re not disagreeable.
You also have the option to click on “View Active Topics” or “View New Posts” which will bring you to all the current topics across Canada, which you can browse through and read.
From the User Control Panel (UCP), you can customize your account by adding an avatar picture or a signature including pictures – Click on ‘Profile’, then ‘Edit Signature’ or ‘Edit Avatar’
You also have a choice of board styles which will change how the forum displays, by going to Board Preferences, then My Board Styles, select from the drop down list and click on submit. Go to the Board Index and try out the new style, then choose one that suits you.
If you have any questions, from the Board Index, there is a section entitled ‘Forum & Website Technical Support’ that may answer your question. You can ask your officers for help, or simply post the question under the Forum & Website Tech Questions section and the members or Board Administrator will answer them for you.
We were all new at this at one point, so browse around and ask for help if you need it. Don’t be afraid to check things out, nothing happens/changes until you click on ‘Submit’.
